Assurance Services for NPOs
Our process is similar for all assurance services that we provide. Whether we are engaged to provide audit, review, or compilation services, our professional staff works closely with our client's finance staff to ensure timely completion of the engagement in a cost-effective and timely manner.
Step 1: Planning
-
After proposal acceptance, an engagement letter is signed outlining the level of services to be provided.
-
We will schedule a planning meeting between our staff and our client’s staff. Due dates are established at this meeting and agreed upon with our client.
-
A preparation checklist is sent to our client’s finance staff outlining supporting schedules/analysis requested and engagement start date.
Step 2: Interim Procedures
Step 3: Fieldwork
Step 4: Draft Reports Completed
-
Draft financials prepared by engagement manager.
-
Draft Financials reviewed by engagement officer.
-
Draft financials presented to our client’s finance staff and management team for review and comments.
Step 5: Deliverables & Wrap-up
-
An official draft of the financial statements and other accompanying reports are submitted to our client’s management team, finance committee or audit committee for final approval, depending on the level of service provided.
-
For audit services, we present the results of the audit to the audit committee/Board of Directors in person or via a conference call.
-
Financial statements, management letter, memo to those charged with governance and Form 990/990T (see tax services) are finalized on a timely basis.
